Whether you’re new to percussion or a seasoned pro, World Rhythm’s djembe and bongo selection offers something for everyone.
Cajons
World Rhythm present a range of affordable cajons, a versatile and engaging percussion instrument that’s perfect for both solo performances and ensemble playing.
With its distinctive box-shaped design and wide range of tonal possibilities, the cajon is an excellent addition to any musician’s collection. Many drummers have a cajon in their arsenal for stripped-back and acoustic-based performances.
Hand Percussion
In addition to their popular djembes and bongos, World Rhythm also offers a diverse range of hand percussion instruments within their PET7 Classroom Percussion Set. It includes everything you need to ignite your love of rhythms and add groove to your music, including a tambourine, shakers, a güiro and claves.
Why is the djembe so popular?
The djembe is popular due to its rich cultural history, versatility and distinctive sound. Its powerful bass tones and sharp high notes make it suitable for various musical styles, from traditional African rhythms to contemporary world music.
Is it easy to learn djembe?
Learning to play the djembe can be relatively easy for beginners. With a few basic techniques and rhythms, you can quickly start creating music. However, mastering the instrument and its intricate patterns requires dedication and practice.
Are bongos good for beginners?
Bongos are an excellent choice for beginners due to their small size, affordability and ease of playing. They are a great way to develop hand coordination and rhythm skills, making them a popular choice for novice percussionists.
Is it hard to play bongos?
While 88 keys are standard for a full-size piano, beginners can start learning on a keyboard or digital piano with fewer keys. However, as you progress, you may want to upgrade to an 88-key instrument to access the full range of piano repertoire. If you want to become a classical or jazz pianist, practising and learning on an 88-key digital piano is more important.
Is the cajon a good instrument?
The cajon is a versatile and engaging percussion instrument, perfect for a wide range of musical styles. Its unique design and broad range of tonal possibilities make it an excellent choice for both solo and ensemble playing.
